Naturopathic Medicine

What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic doctors are regulated health professionals trained to be primary health care providers and experts in natural health by blending modern scientific knowledge with traditional and natural forms of medicine.  NDs have a minimum of 7 years of post-secondary education and go through extensive clinical training in physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, diagnosis and physical exam as well as clinical nutrition.  The goal of treatment is to evaluate the whole person, including physical, mental and spiritual aspects, in order to determine the root cause of symptoms and treat the condition in its entirety.

  • Musculoskeletal and Sports Injuries
  • Stress Management, Anxiety & Insomnia
  • Hormonal and Reproductive Health
  • Weight Loss and Management
  • Digestive Health

Extended Heath Coverage

While naturopathic services are not covered by OHIP most extended health care plans provide full or partial coverage, provided these are from a licensed ND.  Check with your insurance provider or Human Resources department to see if you have coverage.
